New Military Oral History Endowment
Mar. 25, 2015—The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) Vancouver Island made a $25,000 gift this week to create the RUSI-VI Military Oral History Endowment. This endowment will fund the teaching costs of the Veterans’ Oral History course, which offers students the opportunity to interview veterans (both retired and serving military personnel) and their families. The interviews are preserved as part of UVic Special Collections. Along with three other donations from individual members of RUSI, the new fund will be endowed at $27,200. The organization’s intent is to build the endowment to $75,000 over the next few years.
