CORE Schedule 2023/2024

We offer several programs throughout the school, each with unique schedules. Check out the program schedule below and make sure to note any closures and holidays. 

One-on-one Tutoring Sessions 

UVic Campus

  • Tuesdays from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 5:15 pm - 6:15 pm
  • Wednesdays from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 5:15 pm - 6:15 pm (in-person and online)
  • Thursdays from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 5:15 pm - 6:15 pm

Songhees Wellness Centre

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

*Currently, CORE tutors only work out of the Songhees Wellness Centre on Mondays. We are seeking more CORE tutors who are eager to work there on Thursdays. 

CORE Book Club

Mondays from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm (UVic campus only)

English Language Learning (ELL) groups

Saturdays from 9:30 am - 10:30 am and 10:45 - 11:45 am (UVic campus only)

Closures

CORE operates from September 12 through April 15 with the following holidays:

  • November 11, 2023, Remembrance Day
  • November 13-15, 2023, Reading Break for all faculties
  • December 15, 2023 - January 8, 2024, CORE winter closure
  • February 19-23, 2024, Reading Break for all faculties
  • March 15 - April 3, 2024, K-12 school Spring Break
  • March 29, 2024, Good Friday
  • April 1, 2024, Easter Monday

Resources for parents

Parents are welcome to stay at CORE while your child is receiving tutoring, but you don't have to. Here are some options:

  • Hang out in the CORE lobby or the seating area outside of the elevators on the third floor. 
  • Looking for coffee or a snack? There is a Starbucks is located next to the bus loop that is open until 7:00pm daily.
  • Check out UVic's calendar of events for listings of upcoming events including athletic events, movies, lectures, as well as theatre and music.
  • Take advantage of UVic's beautiful walking/ jogging trails, or explore Finnerty Gardens.
  • UVic recreation offers a variety of programs and services to the public including lessons and drop in leisure.
  • The multi faith chapel, located next to Finnerty Gardens, offers a quiet place to sit and reflect, as well as different events.
