Changes to SENG Advising

Effective June 1, 2026, SENG advising will now be handled by the following people:

Declared SENG students with year standing 2 and 3

If you would like to speak to one of the advisors, please feel free to email them (in accordance with your year standing) or visit them in person during their office hours. The SENG advisors will no longer use the online booking system for appointments.

If you are an undeclared engineering student that requires assistance, or if you would like to transfer into engineering, please reach out to the Engineering Undergraduate Office.

Specialization certificate requests

As part of this transition, specializations will now be handled by the SENG Program Coordinator.

To request permission to use a course that is not already a qualifying course for a specialization, please email bsengoff@uvic.ca before registering for the class as permission is required from the Program Director. Please list the course name, include the outline for the term you are interested in, and note which specialization you would like to apply it to.

To request a specialization certificate when you graduate, please email bsengoff@uvic.ca and include the name of the specialization and a list of the qualifying courses you took. The deadline for certificate requests is 30 business days prior to convocation. You will be contacted via email at your preferred email address once your certificate is ready.
