Find a UVic thesis

Print, Electronic and Microform formats
Search Books & More to find UVic theses in any format. If you know the title, search by "Title begins with." To search by topic or department, choose "Keyword (with boolean)" and include "victoria" and "thesis" or "dissertation" in your search. For example:

  • thesis and victoria and "climate change"
  • dissertation and victoria and psychology
  • (thesis or dissertation) and victoria and ("first nations" or aboriginal) and health

Click the title of a thesis you want. If available, click the link to get a PDF copy. If the thesis is in Proquest, you will need to search for it again. Find it fast by copying and pasting the title and putting it in quote marks.

Looking for a physical copy? Get the call number and check the location; theses are found in the main stacks (Location: McPherson Library), Special Collections and Microforms.

To find only electronic theses, search directly in Dissertations and Theses @UVic from Proquest. Also try UVic's institutional repository, UVicSpace, which will have the most current theses.

Need a recent thesis?
Try UVicSpace. Recent theses and dissertations may not yet be catalogued and available for searching through Main Cat, but you may be able to find it in UVicSpace if the author has submitted it. If you are looking for a specific recent title not showing up in the main catalogue or UVicSpace, please contact Technical Services (libtech@uvic.ca). Some departments may also have copies.
