New library website coming July 28!
UVic Libraries is launching a brand-new website on July 28, 2025. You don’t need to do anything to prepare. The new site will seamlessly replace the existing site on launch day.
The new site shares its look & feel with other UVic websites, such as www.uvic.ca. It’s been completely redesigned to reflect the needs of students and faculty.
New site features
- Landing pages for students, researchers, and instructors, designed to help you access important information quickly
- Streamlined, simplified navigation and page design
- Content designed with accessibility top of mind
- All-new Indigenous resource hub to help highlight our unique local collections
Note: The library search interface (Primo) is not changing. Only the main website is being updated.

A design based on student & faculty needs
Over the past two years, we have connected with over 500 students, faculty, and staff to learn how the UVic community uses our website. Feedback from 7 different research activities has helped us develop the new site’s content and structure.
This is a big change – and a long time in the making. Our goal is to make it easier for students and faculty to connect to important resources and services, and help you discover library resources you may not have heard about.
We’re excited to share it with you!
