Personal web hosting

Your UVic web space: where to start

All UVic students, faculty, and staff are given 1 GB of disk space on the UVic server. This disk space can be used for email as well as web space.

To access your web space, ensure you have a

• NetLink ID
• Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) client; and
• secure Internet connection.

Your website will be http://web.uvic.ca/~yourNetLinkID/.

To add files to your web space, you will need to connect to the unix.uvic.ca server using an SFTP client. All files and folders related to your web space should go in the www (live) or www-dev (production) folder.
