Effective date: November 28, 2014 at 08:00:00 am(1 day from now)

Effective 1 day from now: On 28 November between 0800 and 1400 PST all WestGrid resources at the University of Victoria will be offline for necessary maintenance to the core switch. This maintenance is necessary for continued and immediately expected growth in use of cloud resources; other maintenance will be performed at this time.

During this period the GPFS filesystem, compute nodes, batch queues, and interactive nodes will be unavailable. Submitted jobs will be queued if their projected run time overlaps with the maintenance window.

Updates will be posted in this space.

Please note this downtime is in addition to the brief network outage of 27 November interrupting external connectivity.

Effective date: November 27, 2014 at 07:00:00 pm(13 hours from now)

Effective 13 hours from now: Network Services maintains two Voice Contact Center servers that provide menuing and ACD Queue functionality for the campus. We will be moving the standby service to new hardware on November 27, 2014 starting at 7:00pm.

No change is being made to the active server so we do not anticipate any outage of the voice menu system.

This Informed will be updated when the migration is complete.

Intel Mac VPN client

Posted on November 26, 2014 at 03:19:50 pm by tsteeves@uvic.ca
Effective date: November 27, 2014 at 07:00:00 am(1 hour from now)

Effective 1 hour from now: The version of the Mac AnyConnect client on the VPN server is incorrect.

3.1.04074 was installed last December, but lately clients have been given 3.1.02040. A failover and a file mismatch are the cause.

Tomorrow at 07:00 the correct client version will be selected to be handed out by the VPN server. Some clients may have to upgrade. This should be automatic.
