Currently the manager of Education Policy at Camosun College, Katie has over 15 years' experience in the not-for-profit and community development sectors, managing and developing a variety of development and capacity-building initiatives with a focus on youth and citizen engagement. Among others, she has worked with the International Institute for Child Rights and Development, School District #74 Aboriginal School Success Project, antidote: Multiracial and Indigenous Girls and Women’s Network, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and BC Healthy Communities.

Prior to joining Camosun College, she spent three years as a Senior Consultant with Global Public Affairs, working with a variety of stakeholders and businesses to develop strategies to engage government and understand current and emerging policies. In 2010, Katie received the VanCity Youth Leadership Award.

My bachelor in Sociology provided me with fundamental critical thinking skills and the necessary analytical and contextual knowledge to work in an increasingly diverse and dynamic society.
