International Student Welcome, Aug. 31

Our International Student Welcome program introduces you to UVic staff, faculty and current students who will provide advice on immigration documents, health insurance, academic resources, health and safety programs, Canadian culture and much more.

  • Meet international, Indigenous and Canadian students

Transfer, Mature and Distance Student Welcome, Sept. 1

UVic offers a welcome program specifically for transfer, mature and locally situated distance students who are studying full-time or part-time at UVic.

  • Learn about campus services and locations
  • Get tips for academic and student life success
  • Connect with other transfer, mature and distance students

New Student Welcome for first-year and visiting students, Sept. 5

If you're a first-year or visiting undergraduate student, we encourage you to take part in the New Student Welcome program. You'll be welcomed by President Jamie Cassels and led by current students from your faculty who will serve as your guides and mentors.

Week of Welcome for Indigenous Students, Sept. 11-15

Self-identified Indigenous students are encouraged to take part in the Week of Welcome for Indigenous Students, hosted by the Office of Indigenous Affairs.

If you're a graduate student new to UVic or new to graduate studies, be sure to participate in our Graduate Student Orientation program. Here, you can attend sessions on research methods, scholarship applications and career opportunities while connecting with staff, faculty and students.

Residence Move-in Day

During residence move-in you'll check in to residence, pick up your keys, meet your neighbours and settle into your new room. Look for an email with further information closer to the date.
