Richard Griffiths has recently published “Configuring the World. A critical Political Economy approach” 2016, HIPE Publications, Leiden. This 480pp book analyses the numbers we employ to analyse the world and criticises the way they are used by economists and social scientists to confirm their theories. The chapters cover such themes as the relationship of societal variables to questions of wealth and poverty as well as the phenomenon of globalisation. Ten of the chapters are illustrated by appropriate case studies. The book can be purchased from http://www.configuringtheworld.com

The price is US$10.95 for the eBook and US$32.49 for paperback. Ten per cent of the revenues will go to support his daughter’s work in East Africa with Handicap International.
