Support for students transferring from other institutions

a group of students

Make new friends at student orientation.

We make it easy to transfer

Whether you come here directly from another post-secondary institution, take a few years off, or go through a bridge program, it's easy to transfer to UVic.

Simply apply online and send in your transcripts. Within a few weeks you'll receive a transfer evaluation with a course-by-course description of how your credit transfers to UVic. Once you've been accepted, an academic adviser will provide hands-on assistance as you enroll in a program.

Nursing mentorship program

Student volunteers are helping make the transition from college easier for new nursing students. Learn about the nurse mentorship program.

Transfer credit info

Eligible transfer credit is usually assigned as part of the admission process. Transfer credit from BC colleges, International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs will be assigned according to the BC Transfer Guide. Associate degrees completed at a BC college are guaranteed 30 units of transfer credit.

Transfer credit for work terms

You may receive transfer credit for work terms (co-op, practica, internship) completed at other post-secondary institutions. Check the Co-op and Career website for details.

Advising contacts

Academic advisers are an invaluable resource for students. They can help you plan your program, decide which courses to take and advise on which courses may be transferable to UVic.
