Dr. Susan Duncan named director of School of Nursing

Already known to many of our nursing school faculty and staff through her previous collaborative work with UVic on shared undergraduate nursing curriculum, Dr. Susan Duncan has also worked with several indigenous leaders and UVic faculty and staff as part of a team to develop online decolonizing curriculum.

Dr. Duncan is currently a Professor and MN Program Coordinator in the School of Nursing at Thompson Rivers University (TRU). Her academic administrative experience includes a term as Dean of the School of Nursing at TRU. During that period, Dr. Duncan worked with faculty and university colleagues to develop an inclusive and diverse vision of research and scholarship, and to create processes for promotion and tenure and collegial governance including faculty councils and the senate. She has particularly enjoyed helping to build capacity for scholarship and research within the faculty.
