NSERC National Network for Faster Diagnosis of Cancers Announced with UVic Researchers

24 September 2009: Today $5M in funding was announced by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) to support a multi-university national network for the faster diagnosis of cancers. The network will explore, develop and test nanostructured metals to shorten the time needed to diagnose lung cancer and leukemia, and improve disease prognosis. Professor Reuven Gordon from Electrical and Computer Engineering and Professor Alexandre Brolo from Chemistry are two of the 20 researchers from across Canada forming the network.
