Professor W.J.R. Hoefer receives the 2009 IEEE Canada A.G.L. McNaughton Gold Medal

May 5, 2009 - Wolfgang. J.R. Hoefer, a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was awarded the 2009 IEEE Canada A.G.L. McNaughton Gold Medal for pioneering research in microwave engineering, computational electromagnetics, and working with industry to develop practical time domain simulators.

Dr. Hoefer received the award on 04 May 2009 during the award ceremony of the 2009 Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering in St-John's. He gave the annual McNaughton Lecture at the same conference on 05 May 2009.

The A.G.L. McNaughton Gold Medal was established in 1969 and is sponsored by IEEE Canada. It is awarded for exemplary contributions to the engineering profession.
