ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT:

What is Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDDM)? What is the confluence of Machine Learning, Databases and Statistics? What sort of applications does it aim to develop?

This talk will discuss the general field and present a personal perspective and research activity in KDDM. The talk will progress to present some detailed aspect of algorithms research. This particular piece of research is descriptive clustering for spatial data and some insight into a robust and efficient representative-based clustering algorithm in Usage WEB Mining. We will conclude with five avenues for collaboration:

  1. Spatio-Temporal Association Rules
  2. Web Usage Mining
  3. Data Mining for Machines
  4. Robust and Non-Parametric Statistics
  5. Privacy in Data Mining
