ABSTRACT:
Environmental status of overhead power transmission line is critical to power grid management and maintenance. These power transmission lines are deployed in large areas of geography. Wirelessly sending this status information will be of huge benefits. This project is to firstly study the feasibility of deploying a Zigbee protocol based sensor network, such as transmission distance, latency, throughput and PER. And then we develop our prototype based on both hardware and software developments. Configurations of hardware and software engineering of a user interface on PC are the major parts of my project.
