ABSTRACT:
The design of a broadband planar tapered slot antenna system for the 3-10 GHz frequency range is presented. Special emphasis is placed on the feed and its transition to the antenna. Several feed options are discussed and modeled in CST Microwave Studio. Measurements performed on a prototype antenna verify the design process and show good agreement with predictions in terms of broadband performance, impedance match, pattern characteristics and cross polarization.
