ABSTRACT
Photomixers commonly used to generate THz radiation cannot generate more than a few microwatts of THz power and therefore enhancement of power remains as a challenge. New materials such as carbon nanotubes offer a set of properties that posses the potential for power enhancement for photomixing. This work evaluates these key properties for photomixing purposes and estimates the increase in output power in comparison to conventional LT-GaAs photomixers.
