Abstract:
The seminar presents an overview of subband echo cancellation configurations in telecommunications. Typical echo path impulse responses in telecommunications are discussed and application of subband echo cancellation techniques in such scenarios is described. The performance of subband echo cancellers is shown to be influenced by the characteristics of the filter banks used. The problem of design of optimal filter banks for subband echo cancellers is explained and a new method of design of such optimal filter banks is introduced. Simulation results are shown to illustrate the performance of the so designed filter banks in echo cancellation applications.
