ABSTRACT

Abstract:

As Canada's national aerospace laboratory, the National Research Council's Institute for Aerospace Research (NRC/IAR) undertakes and promotes a wide range of research and development activities in support of the Canadian aerospace community in areas affecting the design, manufacture, performance, use and safety of aerospace vehicles. This seminar will provide a brief overview of NRC and IAR, including a presentation of some of IAR's activities in the area of advanced airframe structures and materials. Of particular focus will be on-going and planned activities in low-cost composite materials, smart structures and unmanned aerial vehicles.
