ABSTRACT:
In this talk, we discuss a class of reaction-diffusion equation models that describe the population growth of a single species with age structure. We will start with the motivations and then give an outline of the derivation of the models. We will compare the new models with some existing ones. We will then give some mathematical results on the new models, and mention some challenging but very intereting problems related to these models.
