ABSTRACT
The techniques of information visualization have been tightly integrated with different disciplines, and have proved to be a valuable and effective methodology to help understand and explore all kinds of domain information. Furthermore, as a sub branch of the software engineering discipline, software configuration management (SCM) is playing an important role in the software lifecycle, and team work has become a dominant style of the software development activity. In this talk, I will present a version control tool that integrates the concepts of SCM and information visualization. The tool is built on the Eclipse platform, extracting historical data of a project from the CVS repository which is connected with Eclipse. The tool is using SHriMP to visualize and highlight information that is of interest to the user.
