Winter Ecology Research Assistant Opportunity

Salary: $2000/month and $300/month food stipend

Job description: Seeking one motivated field assistant to aid in collecting data for PhD research on the landscape genetics of fisher (Pekania pennanti) in Alberta’s Cooking Lake Moraine. This position consists of live-trapping and radio telemetry, checking baited wildlife camera sites, and wildlife photo categorization. Housing will be provided at Miquelon Lake Park - transportation is possible at the start/end of contract.

Preferred qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with field experience
• Previous experience live-trapping, performing radio telemetry,working with wildlife cameras, and entering data
• Ability to work in cold conditions and live in close-quarters with others
• Attention to detail, organization, and a strong work ethic
