Exploration stage
Your idea is just the beginning. This is the earliest stage where you are formulating a business concept and searching for a potentially viable model for a sustainable venture.
Your first step? Come and meet us. We'll tell you all about what we do and how we can help you. We'll ask you about your connection to UVic and will ask you to briefly summarize your idea.
Some questions we may ask:
- How well defined is the scope of your idea?
- Have you considered all factors in what it will take to launch this idea?
- How committed are you at this point?
Incubation stage
Now, you've met with us a few times, and you're starting to investigate your venture concept in depth.
- Meet some of our business and technical mentors who can share their expertise and help you with your initial questions.
- Enter PlanIt - UVic's business plan competition for a chance to win cash for your venture.
Acceleration stage
Once you've completed the process of assessing the viability of your idea, you're ready to enter the accelerator process as a client. You will be assigned an Entrerepreneur in Residence who will help guide your team and help you fully develop your plan and get launched. Typically, ventures meet with their Entrepreneur in Residence twice monthly.
We will help you:
- review the status of your venture development
- draw out advice from your Entrepreneur in Residence
- to become really good at pitching your idea
- find a variety of investment and financing options to help launch your venture
