Message from the DMS EDI Committee

Black Lives Matter. We stand against anti-Black racism, police brutality directed against Black people and all other forms of racial hate and violence.

As members of the Division of Medical Sciences (DMS) Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee, we are committed to combating racism, oppression and other forms of violence. We call on our community to work with us to create an inclusive environment at UVic and in the DMS. 

We are compiling resources to provide education on anti-Black racism and other forms of racism at Canadian Universities, in academia, medicine and society at large, as well as on the contributing societal issues; resources about how to be anti-racist; as well as information on immediate ways to help. We are creating a working document of these resources to be made available by the end of July and welcome any input and suggestions.
