Library services

As a visitor to the library, you are welcome to use our collections and resources. Material in the general collection is available for in-library use. If you would like to borrow materials, you can obtain a library card from the main loan desk. You will need to present a piece of government-issued photo ID.

While visiting the library, you can use our kiosk computers to get access to the library website, catalogue and other library resources. You will have to ask at the loan desk for a guest Netlink ID to get access to resources outside of the library website.

Unfortunately, your off-campus access will be limited to searching the library catalogue only as licensing restrictions prevent us from making journal databases available to you. Check your local library to discover available online resources.

There is a small charge to receive materials from other libraries. Contact or phone 250-721-6488 for more information.

Library events

UVic Libraries holds a number of free seminars, exhibits and events to promote the library’s rich collections. For information on upcoming events contact or phone 250-853-3612.
