Three law firms pledge support for Business Law Clinic

Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, McMillan LLP and McCarthy Tétrault LLP have each made $25,000 pledges to UVic’s Business Law Clinic program, a vital component of legal education at UVic Law. The very first of its kind in BC, the clinic performs a unique and valuable role, both in its contributions to legal education and in providing legal information to aspiring entrepreneurs, small businesses and not-for-profit organizations. It serves clients throughout BC who would otherwise be unable to access legal services and is the only law school cllinic in western Canada that focuses exclusively on business issues. The clinic provides students the opportunity to develop practical business law skills, learn to apply them creatively and thoughtfully, and enhance their knowledge of the many areas of law and their underpinnings.
