Appropriate content

Each post on UVic's central social media accounts typically reaches 2,000-10,000+ people. The most appropriate account(s) for your content will depend on the primary audience you're trying to reach.

Content submitted for consideration must:

  • Reflect the values and priorities of the university (see the Strategic Plan & Edge brand guidelines)
  • Be factually correct
  • Be relevant to a wide range of people
  • Have no spelling or grammatical errors
  • Use an appropriate tone

Additional tips

Remember that anyone can read a public post on social media, not just your target audience.

If you would like to target a small group of people, it may be better to approach them through other means, such as email or phone.
