Accelerated entry

The accelerated entry program is for high-achieving high school students who want to enroll in courses at UVic during high school.

  • Get to know UVic better before you even graduate high school.
  • Receive elective credits towards your high school diploma and university credit from UVic.
  • Credits count towards your future university degree.

If you're confident you can fit in a UVic course with your high school classes and other activities, talk to your high school counsellor or principal. Together, you can decide if the program is a good option for you.

Admission criteria

To be eligible you must:

  • Have an overall average of 85% or higher (90% or higher in the field of study you plan to pursue at UVic)
  • Have completed all prerequisites for the courses you want to take
  • Meet minimum language proficiency requirements
  • Be 16+ years of age

UVSS renovation fee $2.50
U-Pass (bus pass)* $81.00

Choosing a UVic course

You must indicate your preferred courses when you apply. Most first-year courses are open to you, provided you can meet the course prerequisites.

Review the list of first-year courses to find courses of interest.

Check the UVic timetable to find out if and when your preferred courses are offered.

Next steps

If you're accepted into the accelerated entry program, you'll receive an official UVic admission letter confirming your registration and indicating your approved course.

You'll need to make sure that you meet any course prerequisites before the first day of class, and pay your tuition fees and associated costs.
