Computer Help Desk Service Changes

In response to the COVID-19 situation and to ensure the health and safety of our staff, students, and university community, University Systems is transitioning to a remote support model.  If possible, please email helpdesk@uvic.ca or use our Request Help form to request support.  More detailed information on service changes during this time can be found below:

Computer Help Desk Services

The Computer Help Desk is transitioning to delivering support services remotely.  You can contact us for support during the following hours:

Mon-Fri 8am-11pm
Sat-Sun 10am-10pm

If possible, please email helpdesk@uvic.ca or use our Request Help form to request support.  Our Computer Help Desk Analysts will respond to all inquiries in priority order while working remotely.

Through to April 10th, we are not performing the following services:

  • Site visits to on or off campus client locations
  • Computer hardware service

Computer Help Desk Computing Facilities

Effective 4:30pm March 19, all Computer Help Desk computing facilities will be closed until April 10.  The Computer Help Desk computing facilities hours for the day of March 19 can be found on our Computing Facilities page.

Desktop Support Services

Effective Monday Mar 23, 2020, the Desktop Support Services (DSS) team will be working remotely providing support to our clients both on and off campus.  Support will be provided between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday to Friday.   To request support, fill out the Request Help Now form or email helpdesk@uvic.ca.
