Exchange email and calendaring system upgrade

The Microsoft Exchange Email and Calendaring system is being upgraded to the latest version, Microsoft Exchange 2013, to better serve UVic faculty and staff.  The new version of Exchange offers several improvements, especially to Outlook Web App (mail.uvic.ca).  New features include multiple calendar viewing and enhanced attachment previews. Outlook Web App has a clean new design and simplified interface to provide a similar experience across all your devices, including smart phones and tablets.

On July 19, 2014, University Systems began the process to upgrade to Exchange 2013.  The first phase of this change upgraded Outlook Web App (mail.uvic.ca).  On this date, your email client and mobile device may have prompted you to accept a new security certificate.  You will also notice a change to the appearance of the login webpage for mail.uvic.ca.  To preview this change, please visit the Systems website.

The next phase of this upgrade will continue later this fall when University Systems begins moving mailboxes to the new Exchange 2013 servers.

For more information about this upgrade, please visit the Systems website or contact the Computer Help Desk at 250-721-7687 or helpdesk@uvic.ca.
