Emergency maintenance January 5-7

A security vulnerability called Meltdown has been identified that affects Mac and Windows workstations, mobile devices, and servers from the past decade. This vulnerability allows for protected memory to be accessed that may include sensitive information such as passwords and cryptographic-keys.

University Systems will be applying security updates to all production systems to mitigate the Meltdown vulnerability. From 5pm Friday, January 5 until 5pm on Sunday, January 7 there will be brief outages of services as they are restarted including Banner, FAST, and CourseSpaces.

In order to ensure that your personal computer is updated, please make sure that it is powered on to allow for automatic security updates over the weekend.
