University Systems is going to make two changes to the "UVic", "eduroam", and "UVicDefault" wireless networks at 7:00am on Friday, April 29, 2011.

These updates are required to maintain technical currency, and will help to resolve a number of other wireless issues that users have been experiencing.

You will need to make a change to the configuration of your computer and other wireless device (eg - Smartphone). Configuration instructions can be found below.

If you require assistance configuring the University wireless network, please contact the Computer Help Desk.

Reconfiguring Windows

The "UVic" wireless network must be reconfigured on your computer. Please visit our "UVic" wireless configuration instructions for Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 to setup the network using the new configuration tool, or follow the instructions to setup the network manually.

Reconfiguring Mac OS

If you have already configured the "UVic" network on your Mac, you must accept the new wireless certificate to connect as shown below:



Press the continue button to connect and continue to use the "UVic" wireless network.

Reconfiguring iPhone, iPad, or iOS

If you have already configured the "UVic" network on your iPhone, iPad, or iOS device, you must accept the new wireless certificate to connect as shown below:



Press the Accept button to connect and continue to use the "UVic" wireless network.
