Monthly server and database maintenance
In order to protect University of Victoria's data and to minimize the cybersecurity threat to the University's enterprise systems, University Systems is taking a pro-active approach to server operating system and database maintenance by establishing a monthly maintenance (patching) window. Regular system patching significantly reduces the risk of security vulnerabilities affecting centrally managed enterprise servers. Every month, patches and updates will be applied to server operating system and databases running key enterprise applications in order to keep them current and secure. As a result, some enterprise applications will experience a short period of downtime.
Please note that emergency patches may need to be applied on dates other than the advertised dates/times.
