Assistive technology rooms
There are 3 assistive technology rooms in Mearns - McPherson and the Diana M. Priestly Library. Each one has 2 computers, seating for 4 or 5, and a variety of adaptive and assistive technology. (Learn more about adaptive and assistive technology.)
Anyone who needs access to assistive hardware or software is welcome to use the these rooms on a first-come, first-served basis. You can use them whenever the libraries are open and schedule a tutorial during the day.

Each room has 2 Windows computers with peripherals including:

Accessibility and layout
These rooms have:
- fixed furniture
- low-pile carpet flooring
- adjustable lighting (Diana M. Priestly only)
Each room has a mix of different kinds of furniture including:
- height-adjustable and fixed-height desks
- padded, adjustable rolling office chairs
- with and without armrests
- additional stacking plastic chairs and bean bag chair (Diana M. Priestly only)
Get help
Library staff offer tutorials for the hardware and software in all assistive tech rooms. Tutorials are by appointment.
