Lunch and Learn - April 2017

Workshop: Emergency Preparedness

If you grew up on Vancouver Island or have been here for any length of time, you have heard about, and probably learned to ignore, the dire predictions for THE BIG ONE. Now, the recent UVic discovery of an active fault line running right under Victoria has reignited the push for us all to prepare for what might come.

During this workshop, attendees will learn about specific emergencies and hazards that can cause disruptions to life in Victoria. You'll also learn practical steps you can take before, during and after an emergency to better respond and recover.

Date: Friday, April 28, 2017, 11:30 - 12:30pm
Location: Welcome Centre, University Centre Building
Presenter: Rob Johns, Manager, Emergency Planning

Lunch-and-learn sessions are open to all staff members in the Division of Student Affairs. Bring your lunch and learn something new. Space is limited so please pre-register at or by calling 250-721-8949.
