Stock-tober 2017 raises 1822 lbs of food for the UVSS

Stock-tober, the annual Student Affairs food drive at the University of Victoria in support of the UVSS Food Bank & Free Store, took place from October 12-25, 2017. This year’s Stock-tober raised 1822 pounds (820 kilograms) of food and toiletries and $595 in cash and gift cards for the UVSS Food Bank & Free Store. Here are some more stats from the donation event held in the Welcome Centre on Wednesday, October 25:

• Student Affairs Office – 155 lbs + $150

• Continuing Studies – 110 lbs
• Libraries – 84 lbs

Stocktober 2017

Located in the basement of the Student Union Building, the UVSS Food Bank & Free Store provides essential support to hundreds of UVic undergrad and grad students and their families every week. The food bank relies on UVSS and GSS funding and community donations to assist students in need and Stock-tober is an important event in the annual donation cycle.
