Meet Ann W.

Ann W

Practicum counsellor

My name is Ann (she/her) and I am a third year master’s student studying counselling at City University. I am a settler of Greek and Irish/French-Canadian descent. I was born on Haudenosaunee territory and have been an uninvited visitor on the territories of the Lkwungen and WSÁNEĆ peoples since 2009.

Counselling approach

Our world and lives are ever changing, and I believe that a safe, genuine, and focused counselling relationship can really help when challenges arise. I practice from a client-centred, strengths-based, systemic/relational perspective, drawing from somatic therapies and Narrative therapy. I strive to foster a collaborative environment in which we can find solutions or explore your context in ways that are meaningful to you. It is important to me that when we work together, we attend to all dimensions of your identity, as these can have a profound impact on how you feel.

Some of the presenting concerns I work with are anxiety and depression, family of origin trauma, the challenges of being an emerging adult, parenting, relationships, grief and many other facets of being human.
