Funding resources

The Faculty of Social Sciences is committed to world-class research. Over the past decade, the faculty has secured over $218 million in research funding with an average annual total of close to $20 million.

Our students, faculty members, and postdoctoral fellows garner funding from several major external funding agencies, including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Canada Foundation for Innovation, and the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research.

Private foundations and donors also support our researchers, and we regularly partner with other universities, institutions, non-governmental organizations, governments, and industry sponsors to carry out research initiatives of mutual interest.
