Rewilding Victoria: James MacKinnon

James MacKinnon, former student and instructor in UVic's Department of Writing and co-author of the popular book, The 100-Mile Diet, calls on us to examine the nature of the past in order to “rewild” Earth in the future. He explores this simple truth in his new book, The Once and Future World: Nature As It Is, As It Was, As It Could Be.

MacKinnon is the past editor of Adbusters, the ‘culture jamming’ magazine that connected to the Occupy movement, and a past senior contributing editor of Explore, Canada’s national outdoors magazine. He returns to UVic as a Lansdowne Lecturer sponsored by the School of Environmental Studies.
