Why economics at UVic?
The reasons for studying economics are as varied as its applications. The study of economics provides a strong entry point for a wide range of careers, perhaps more than any other area of study.
Careers in economics
Many of our students have gone on to careers in accounting, financial services and other branches of business. Others have gone on to pursue post-graduate professional programs such as law, an MBA, risk analysis or operations research.
Many have gone on to graduate school in economics, leading to careers as professional economists working in both the public and private sector, or to careers in academia. Learn about careers in economics.
