ECU Policy Case Competition 2019

Congratulations to the ECU for holding yet another successful policy case competition last week, and well done to all the teams that participated!

The question put to students this year was: 'Should ride hailing services (Uber, Lyft) be permitted in BC, and if so, how should they be regulated?' On the judging panel were Drs. Merwan Engineer, Paul Schure, and three employees from the Ministry of Finance (David Karp, Quinn Yu, and Sean LaGuardia).

The five competing teams were:

Team 1: Brooklynn Trimble and William Thomas (1st place)

Team 2: Miguel Antonio D. Dicen, Aaron Symington, and Vanessa Yanchula (2nd place)

Team 3: Deaglan Jakob, Daniel Lake, and Jamie Emery (3rd place)

Team 4: Nadav Blanck-Besindone, Done Dumi-Leslie, Bryce Edwards, and Burt Wang

Team 5: Lana Angerman and Kelsey Twa

All of the teams were very impressive - well done to all of the students involved! We look forward to next year's competition.
