Study skills & learning resources

UVic has many resources to help students deal with the academic challenges of university.  Many of these are provided through the Division of Student Affairs, which also includes Vikes Recreation, where you can find intramural athletics and fitness programs.

Counselling Services offers various resources to UVic students that assist in the development and practice of efficient study techniques and effective learning methods that are important for success in university. You can find self-help learning resources on their website, book an appointment with a counsellor or drop by the Study Solutions Office located in the Learning Commons of the McPherson Library. For more information on these resources, contact Counselling Services

Academic support also is available through the Learning Commons on the main floor of the Mearns Centre for Learning. This is the home of the Centre for Academic Communication (formerly the Writing Centre) which offers individual tutoring, workshops, and other services.  The Learning Commons is also the home of the Math and Stats Assistance Centre, (the Math and Stats Assistance Centre also has a location in the David Turpin Building, room A202).
