There are a number of ways you can get involved in a meaningful way on campus. Volunteering provides an opportunity to engage in hands-on learning outside of the classroom, meet others with similar values and interest, gain new skills and experience for your resume, and most importantly, give back to a cause that matters to you.

When deciding where to volunteer, it can be helpful to think of topics you are most interested in or causes you care most about, and then seek out related opportunities that will allow you to give back in those areas.

The Office of Student Life coordinates the Student Life Leadership Program, which includes two groups of volunteers: the Student Mental Health Leaders and the Consent and Healthy Relationship Leaders. Visit the Student Life Leadership Program page for more information on the program and how to apply.

Outside of our office, there are many other paraprofessional programs and volunteer opportunities you can get involved in. Check out UVic’s volunteer page to find out more about the different volunteer opportunities available on campus.
