COVID-19 update to services

UVic Counselling transition to telephone service

In order to help reduce risk of exposure to COVID-19 to students, staff and the wider community, Counselling is offering appointments by phone:

  • Same-day sessions can be booked over the telephone: 250-721-8341.
  • Same day sessions are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the morning and afternoon, and in the afternoon on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Phones will be answered starting at 8:30am (please do not leave voicemail messages to book a same day appointment).
  • We appreciate your patience at this busy time: if the phone line is busy when you call you can choose to wait on the line or phone back later.
  • Same day appointments are first-come, first-served, and there are a limited number of sessions available each day.
  • To schedule Pre-booked appointments: call the front desk or email your counsellor directly.
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call.
  • Read our tips for preparing for telephone counselling appointments.
  • All groups and workshops are cancelled until further notice.
  • If you are experiencing an emergency please contact 911 and then Campus Security 250-721-7599 if on campus

For reasons of professional licencing and jurisdiction, students who are located outside of BC may have limited access to services. As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, policies around jurisdiction may also change. Please call the front desk to find out about your options for appointments.
