Statement of welcome
At the Student Wellness Centre, we aim to create a welcoming space for all students by upholding the values of diversity and inclusion. We recognize that some people have experienced historic and current systemic barriers based on their country of origin, gender, Indigenous identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, ability and faith. We aim to do our work in ways that contribute to dismantling these barriers.
We are committed to celebrating diversity, implementing anti-racism and anti-bias practices and to ongoing professional development in cultural competence and humility training for our staff and trainees.
We strive to respect and affirm the dignity and worth of all UVic students who seek emotional, physical and spiritual care.
