Organ motion during treatment

Internal organ motion due to cardiac (involuntary) and respiratory (voluntary) activities make it difficult to target tumors in the thorax and abdomen effectively with image-guided radiation therapy. We are looking into how these activities impact organ and tumor position and modeling the corresponding motion trajectories. We are also looking into how these trajectories can be restricted or made reproducible by using relaxation techniques.
