Brachytherapy is becoming a treatment of choice for some disease sites when paired with imaging. The British Columbia Cancer Agency (BCCA) has an agency-wide Prostate Brachy program which uses many imaging modalities including ultrasound, C-arm fluoroscopy, CT and MRI.

Research into using post-procedure imaging to correlate final radioactive seed position to pre-treatment plan is in development.

This work is carried out in conjunction with the Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior (CSI), based in Kelowna. The CSI centre has funding to investigate the use of imaging techniques that are now standard for permanent seed Prostate Brachy to High-Dose-Rate Brachy for the Prostate.
