2025 Allan Carswell Physics Educator Scholarship Awarded to Annabelle Czihaly (MSc '25)

The Department is thrilled to extend its warmest congratulations to Annabelle Czihaly (MSc '25) on receiving the prestigious 2025 Allan Carswell Physics Educator Scholarship in recognition of her excellent academic record and her strong commitment to physics education and mentorship. She has volunteered in a secondary school science classroom and mentored fellow graduate students in effective lab teaching, demonstrating both initiative and leadership in supporting physics learning at multiple levels. Annabelle recognises that physics can be seen as intimidating, resulting in “students [feeling] discouraged before we even [begin];” she hopes to “challenge these notions by making physics accessible, interesting, and engaging”.

Awarded jointly by the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) and the CAP Foundation (CAPF), this national scholarship recognizes exceptional academic achievement alongside a deep, proven commitment to physics education and mentorship.
