Limited-term assistant teaching professor

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria, invites applications for a limited-term Assistant Teaching Professor position to commence December 1, 2020, or as soon as possible after that date. This is a full-time teaching appointment for 9 months only. Junior mathematicians and statisticians who want to further their teaching experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

Candidates must hold a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or Statistics, and must have experience teaching at least six university Mathematics and / or Statistics classes in more than one subject area. Successful applicants will demonstrate a passion for teaching and will provide documented evidence of excellence in the delivery of mathematical sciences courses at the first- and second-year level, in the form of teaching evaluations and supporting letters. Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of Mathematics and Statistics courses will be considered an asset. Successful applicants will be expected to teach and co-ordinate multi- section courses in mathematics and statistics such as calculus and introductory statistics, and to contribute through service to the Department and University.
